Britney Spears' Comeback

Lots of people are starting to see a much healthier looking Britney Spears.  Good for her.
But sadly and naturally, the media is looking the other way.  Even when many media outlets, blogs, and websites claimed that they were interested in Britney when she was in and out of hospitals and rehab clinics because they cared.  Well, if they cared, why aren't they interested now that she is looking better?
Am I the only one that thinks that newsworthiness shouldn't be based on how badly someone is doing?

I agree with you, it's pretty pathetic that they think news has to be controversial and scandalous (especially when it comes to celebs). The same thing happened to Lindsay Lohan when she stopped using drugs and entering rehab. And what about Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie? You never really hear about them anymore either because they're living more mature lives and have real world issues to deal with, like parenting. Apparently the news doesn't think people will be interested.

I love when they run a whole weeks worth of articles on how "Celebrity X is scary thin!!!" and then like the next week the headline will say "Celebrity X puts on weight!!! Baby bump or just getting fat??"

That is pretty much true. It seems that the media tries to show the public the bad side of things because that is what is more interesting for people to talk about. It is sad that they cannot keep talking about her when she is doing well.
